ISSUES OF REGIONAL POLITICS IN AN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE
The international seminar organized by the Institute of Political Science will take place on 15th – 16th May 2018 in Kamień Śląski. During the seminar we would like the participants to share with others their research proposals/ideas or findings from currently conducted research, thus those participating are asked to prepare 20-25 minutes presentation/speech. However, the very essence of the meeting is discussion and exploration of the presented research on regional issues. We believe that having researchers of different cultural backgrounds, however with a similar scholarly attention focused on the regional and local realities will provide a new, interesting insight into the issues of regional politics.
The aims of the seminar:
- comparing views on issues of regional politics between representatives of different parts of the
world - presenting and discussing proposals of the new research projects and findings from already
conducted research to an international body of researchers - discussing possible research cooperation and exploring new research ideas
The main topics of the seminar:
- sustainable development at the regional and local level
- contemporary challenges of urban politics and methods of coping with them
- quality of regional and local governance
- identity and politics in the borderland regions
- regional self-government as an actor in international relations
The participation in the seminar is free of charge. Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements. Those interested in participation are requested to send the topics of their presentation/speech till 15th of April to: bczepil@uni.opole.pl.
